Vegetarian Means Vegan, Right?

Actually vegetarians tend to differ from what Vegans consider themselves to be. The exact reasons for why, evade me at the moment.

I eat plenty of vegetables but also enjoy eggs so I think this means I may be a vegetarian but I am not a vegan because eggs are not on their menu. I need to watch my calories and weight.

Veganism, if I may, seems to be more like a religion than just a healthy eating regime. I think the term is applied to not only eggs but even to wearing things that may have once been alive, like leather.

I have no feelings on this one way or another and think our life choices are just that, our life choices.

Why Using a Wheatgrass Juicer is the Best Way to Make Juice

By Jane Chalmers

A wheatgrass juicer is different to the common fruit juicers that you normally come across. Wheatgrass has tough cellular fibers within it which makes it particularly difficult to process and extract juice from.

Wheatgrass juicers are slower which helps in the generation of less heat and less oxidation of various nutrients. Wheatgrass juicers come in different types, and fall into two types, the manual or electric.

Wheatgrass contains around 70 percent of the green chemical chlorophyll, so the most important part of the juicing process is extracting out of the blades of the grass in an effective manner. As a result, the electric juicers are mostly recommended as they are more effective and require less force to operate.

It is possible to find many models available such as the electric auger juicer, the Miracle mj-500 and various hand operated stainless steel varieties. You will often find them in the price range of around 200 dollars.

The Miracle mj-500 is very easy to operate and does not contain any aluminum parts. It is advisable to turn off the motor after using for around ten minutes to preserve the motor life. It is self feeding, lightweight and comes with a one year warranty. The stainless steel shaft is corrosion proof and long lasting.

A new variety to the market is the electric auger juicer, but it is fast becoming a best seller. They are made of very high quality components which are meant to last a lifetime. It is not only useful for making wheatgrass juice, however, as it can be used for baby food, nut butters and soya milk. These features make it a great bargain to buy and it gives you the choice of mixing the juice with another type of food.

As well as the electric models, manually operating machines are also available. They are cheaper than the electric types and are easy to operate and clean. They also contain no aluminum bits and have a couple of stainless steel screens. The stainless steel wheatgrass juicers that come in the manual version are much more less expensive and are very effective. They come with a pressure control screw that helps in taking out the juice with minimal force.

There are commercial juicers available if you are looking for something a bit more industrial. An example of such a machine is the Miracle Pro Green model. So if you are looking to boost your health, then wheatgrass has many nutritional properties and purchasing a juicer is a worthwhile investment in your health.
